Chandigarh (April 22, 2011): The People’s Union for Civil Liberties is organising an all India seminar on the 7th and 8th of May, 2011 in Delhi on the “Attack by the State on the Life and Personal liberty of its people in Democratic India: Examining the Law on Sedition, other Draconian Laws and Human Rights Violations of Citizens under Ordinary Laws.”

Amritsar (December 01, 2010): Dal Khalsa expressed its deep concern at the registration of a ‘sedition’ case against veteran Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Arundhati Roy, Prof SAR Geelani, Dr Sheikh Showkat Hussain, Sujato Bhadra, Varavara Rao and Shuddhabrata Sengupta by the Delhi Police on the direction of Metropolitan Magistrate Navita Kumari Bagha.

Barnala/ Ludhiana (July 17, 2010): Section 124A is “the prince among the political sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC), designated to suppress the liberty of the Citizens”, was said by Gandhi in his written Statement before a British Judge, when he was charged with “Sedition” by British regime. Ruling regime changed for this peninsula, now called India, in 1947, when British rulers handed over power to current ruling regime of India.
