Amritsar, Punjab (November 24, 2011): Sikh bodies like All India Sikh Student Federation (AISSF), Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and victims of November 1984 approached Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib seeking his immediate intervention to stop SAD (Badal) led Government of Punjab from inviting Amitabh Bachchan to the religious ceremony of inauguration of Khalsa Heritage Comlex.
Chandigarh (November 16 2011): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) chief Karnail Singh Peermohammad was taken in preventive custody along with two of his associates today ahead of senior BJP leader L K Advani s arrival in the city for his Jan Chetna Yatra.
Chandigarh (November 12, 2011): All India Sikhs Students Federation (AISSF) announced that it will disturb L.K. Advani’s Rath Yatra on November 16th when it will enter Chandigarh because of BJP leaders active role in Indian Government’s military action on Sri Harmandir Sahib in June 1984. AISSF will support SAD (Amritsar) Leader Simranjit Singh Mann’s planned disturbance of Advani’s Yatra in Punjab.
Amritsar, Punjab (October 28, 2011): The Shiromani Gurdwara Pharbadnhak Committee (SGPC) has come under criticism from All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) led by Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad for delay in construction of a memorial for the Sikhs brutally massacred during anti-Sikh riots in November 1984 in Haryana. It is notable that on March 6 this year the Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had laid the foundation for the Sikh Genocide Memorail at Hondh Chillar Village.
Moga, Punjab (October 14, 2011): Karnail Singh Peer Mohamman, head of Peer Mohammad faction of All India Sikhs Students Federation (AISSF – Peer Mohammad) announced that it will not allow L.K. Advani’s Rath Yatra to enter the State of Punjab because of Advani’s history of spreading communal disharmony and provoking violence against religious minorities during his previous Yatras.
Amritsar (September 27, 2011): AISSF demanded that Punjab Government lead by SAD (Badal) should immediately ask Delhi Administration to transfer Prof. Bhullar who is admitted in a Hospital while waiting to be executed, to a facility in his homeland Punjab. AISSF also demanded that SAD (Badal) regime should stop defending the police officers responsible for the disappearance of Professor Bhullar’s father and uncle.
Chandigarh (September 10, 2011): AISSF and SFJ demanded that SAD (Badal), the ruling party in Punjab should call a “Special Session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha” to pass a resolution demanding Central Government to commute Professor Devenderpal Singh Bhullar’s death sentence respecting the sentiments and demand of Sikhs.
Amritsar (August 30, 2011): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) accused the Government of India of usurping the identity of Sikhs by denying their demand for Anand Marriage Act. The Government’s action of forcing Sikhs to register their marriages under Hindu Marriage Act is in violation of “equal rights” provided under Articles 14 and 15 of the Constitution of India. AISSF announced that it will file a constitutional petition before the Supreme Court of India challenging the Government’s refusal to pass Anand Marriage Act.
New Delhi (July 30, 2011): Objecting to the bestowing of “siropa” on Rahul Gandhi by Paramjit Singh Sarna of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee during the inauguration of a Sri Tegh Buhadur Memorial, Karnail Singh Peermohmmad President All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) requested Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to summon Paramjit Singh Sarna at Akal Takhat and admonish.
Devenderpal Singh Bhullar, a former instructor of Guru Nanak Engineering Polytechnic College Ludhiana, Punjab has been sentenced to death by a split decision of the Supreme Court of India.
