New York, USA (March 3, 2012): As per information available with “Sikh Siyasat” Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a US based human rights advocacy group, has approached Secretary of State Hillary Clinton demanding the exclusion of Sonia Gandhi from the United States. Sonia Gandhi, who is currently visiting the U.S., is President of the Indian National Congress party, the ruling political party of India that organized and carried out the genocide of over 30,000 Sikh men, women and children in November 1984, many of whom were burnt alive. The Indian National Congress party had organized the genocide to avenge the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the Party’s leader, who was murdered by her two bodyguards who happened to be Sikhs.

New Delhi, India (February 13, 2012): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF – PeerMohammad) announced to file a PIL before Delhi High Court challenging the commutation of Kishori Lal’s sentence who has been convicted of murdering several Sikhs during November 1984. Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) Tejendra Khanna of Delhi has commuted the life sentence of Kishori Lal on the recommendation of the states Sentence Review Board (SRB). Kishori Lal, a butcher from Trilokpuri area of East Delhi was sentenced to death seven times by the trial court for murdering several Sikhs during November 1984 massacre.

Bobigny, France (12 January, 2012): The UN Human Rights Committee (UNHRC) has concluded that France had violated the religious freedom of 76 year old Ranjit Singh when he was asked to remove his turban for his ID photograph. This was disclosed today at a media conference, in Bobigny (near Paris), by the United Sikhs legal team, who had filed a communication on behalf of Ranjit Singh to the UNHRC in December 2008.

London, England (December 19, 2011): British Government continue to feel concerned about the plight of Professor Devender Pal Singh Bhullar, who is facing execution threat in India.
In reply to question raised by Jonathan Ashworth, MP from Leicester South, the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Mr Jermery Browne said, on December 19, that he had “written to the Indian high commissioner, most recently on 7 November, reiterating the UK Government’s strong opposition to the death penalty and urging the Indian authorities not to break their seven-year de facto moratorium on the death penalty”.
