Amritsar/ Chandigarh (June 16, 2013): According to certain media reports a former secretary of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Manjit Singh Calcutta has also raised objections against the construction of the Sikh Genocide 1984 memorial inside the historic Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib Complex in New Delhi.

New York, United States (June 15, 2013): Rights group challenged the dismissal of human rights violation case against CM Badal and filed appeal with the US Circuit Court. The Sikh group has challenged the May 17 order of Federal Judge dismissing the case against CM Badal for failure to effectuate service and the order denying rights group’s motion to conduct jurisdictional discovery. Judge Adelman had dismissed the case holding that that CM Badal was never served with the court summons as claimed by the rights group ‘Sikh for Justice’ (SJF) and SAD (Amritsar).

New Delhi, India (June 10, 2013): According to certain media reports the Sarna brothers of SAD (Delhi) — in their first appearance since their defeat in the Delhi gurdwara polls — on June 09, 2013 said the Sikh Genocide 1984 memorial was not acceptable inside the Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib. Sarnas reportedly said that the memorial should be built at some other site.

New Delhi, India (May 13, 2013): It is learnt that the Delhi High was scheduled to hear 34 petitions regarding 1984 Sikh massacre on May 14,2 013. These petitions challenge the conviction of 104 people accused of their involvement in killings of Sikhs in November, 1984. All these were convicted by Sessions Courts.
