Punjab Water Crisis discussed in Sikh Siyasat’s fortnightly talk-show Qaumi Masle [Ep. 8]

Ludhiana/Punjab (September 10, 2012): Various aspects of Punjab Water Crisis were discussed in recent episode (no. 8) of Sikh Siyasat Multimedia’s fortnightly talk-show – Qaumi Masle.
The talk-show was aired in Europe by Sangat Television on Sunday (September 09, 2012) at 10:00 am to 11:00 am (UK Time). The episode was released over internet today by Sikh Siyasat Multimedia.
The release note of this episode of Qaumi Masle states that Punjab is facing multiform crisis related to Water. According to available data 118 out of 140 development blocks are over-exploited in Punjab in terms of exploitation of ground water as Punjab is deprived from using major potions of it’s river water by the Indian state that has allocated and diverted Punjab’s river water to non-riparian states.
There are reports that uranium levels in Punjab’s ground water are 12 times high than safe limit and heavy use of pesticides and insecticides have left ground water in Punjab as not-fit rather dangerous for human use.
There are other aspects of Punjab Water cirsis also.
In this talk-show basic information related to various aspects of Punjab Water crisis was discussed. Sikh Siyasat shall be conducting more talk-shows in future to explore other aspects related to the issue.
