Raising demand of Khalistan is not unconstitutional, say S. Simranjit Singh Mann

Chandigarh (August 21, 2012): According to media reports the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) President and former MP Simranjit Singh Mann has once again raised the demand for a separate Sikh homeland.

“Khalistan is our (Sikhs) right,” he told reporters here.

S. Mann is reported to have said that the demand for a separate Sikh state was not “unconstitutional” according to Indian system.

“Mere demand of Khalistan is no offence,” the former MP is reported to have said by PTI. S. Mann has accused the Punjab government of carrying out misleading propaganda against him.

    If it is not unconstitutional then raise your hand and ask the people of Punjab to support you in the next coming election based on the Khalistan. Asking may not be unconstitutional but separating and declaring it as separate state or separate country is unconstitutional. The last part is hard and needs be well organised and not just a mere statement.
