Sangat TV crew attacked by Dera Radha Swami goons at village Jodhan near Beas

Beas, Punjab (July 29, 2012): As per confirm information available with Sikh Siyasat, Dera Beas goons attacked Reporter and cameraman of Sangat TV (UK) on the evening of July 28, 2012. Baljeet Singh, reporter of Sangat TV was at village Jodhan to cover the destruction of land of village residents. He was talking to village resident when a mob of dera followers assaulted them.
It is notable that on May 18, 2008 two journalists Davinder Singh Bhangu of Punjabi Tribune newspaper and Rajinder Rikhi of Dainik Bhaskar newspapers were seriously attacked by Dera followers. Davinder Singh Bhangu was thrown into 35-40 feet deep dig, where as Rajinder Rikhi was abducted. He was badly beaten by dera followers inside the dera.
Local media has taken serious note of today’s incident. Senior reports from Rayya, a neighbouring town of Beas extended their support and help Sangat TV crew in launching a complaint with the police.

For what is portrayed as a religious, meditation group, some members are showing a very violent side to their nature. Obviously have something to hide.
lolz…fake…….. heard a lot about the fake stuff being delivered by the media, taking their own crowd to the positive side, the reporter eventually proved it today..
Entering Dera against the protocols of Dera was the first shameful act committed by the so called ‘News-Reporter’. Being captured,now, he’s just trying to insult the people who found him with the video camera and other electronics whose entry is strictly prohibited in Dera.
Really a scandalous act by the guy…
I wish such ‘public-servers’ stop spreading violence based on religion.

This Dera is directly being supported by BJP/RSS and Hindu intelligence agencies for the last 50 years. Now they have a coup in the sense that the youth president of Sikh Akali party has officially become their protector. The entire police and district administration will bend over backwards to protect this violent Dera. Gurbachan Singh should ask Majithia to resign from Akali Dal and if he can not do this he should himself resign immediately.
Mohit, you are trying to befool the readers by presenting your imagination as facts. I have talked to many senior journalists of the area they confirmed that Village Resident of Jodhan have told them that the Sangat TV reporter was talking to them on the land owned and cultivated by village residents with which dera has nothing to do. He did not entered in dera compound.
He was taken there by village residents to show their plight as dera is encroaching over their land by illegal mining.
They said dera followers attack the reporter, first in last many years who was courageous enough to visit their village to report their plight.
Secondly, how do you justify physical assault on media person by armed dera followers. If dera has grievances against any reporter they should report to the police. Who gave them right to attack the reporters and threaten them with physical assault. Media investigation has confirmed that dera persons were armed and they tried to capture the reporter to cause physical harm. Previously in 2008 two reporters with prominent Punjabi and Hindi dailies.
These are facts and can be verified by contact Devinder Singh Bhangu of Punjabi Tribune and Ratinder Rikhi of Dainik Bhaskar and other journalists of Rayya town. Now let readers decide who was violent and who is non-violent?
Hey Guys, Amarpal Bony Ajnala [SAD MLA], bashed a couple of Journlists in Ranjit Avenue Amritsar last year while they were filming his illegal construction on public land. We saw the photos of those reports being kicked by him in the newspapers. None of you guys came up to support them, none from Sangat TV , SIKHCHANNEL, None from Journlists Union….
Now you guys are making it a religious and political issue, which is useless….
Mr. fake SinghB, do you want to justify attack on Sangat TV crew by quoting attack on journalists by badal dal members? Very silly and poor thinking. Who is making it religious or political issue? and how could you say that media should not report unless they were personally present there. Local media is supporting the journalist and demanding action against the culprit. What is political and religious in it? Do you want to say that local media should not press police to take action against those who attacked media persons without any reason, just to hide their misdeeds. If you have faith in dera, at least I have not problem but if you want to justify attacks on media by dera without any reason then I must say that you are wrong.
What you have to say about 2008 incident when Amritsar media boy-cotted press conference of Punjab cm when a senior journalist of punjabi tribune was thrown by dera men into 40 feet deep dig and other journalist, a Hindu gentle man who works with Dainik Bhaskar was abducted to dera and beaten there. When punjabi tribune editor gave boy-cot call to govt. press conferences then due to press pressure govt directed police to take action and after that dainik bhaskar reporter was freed from dera.
If you doubt facts contact Davinder Singh Bhangu reporter of Punjabi tribune from Rayya and Rajinder Rikhi reporter of Dainik Bhaskar from Rayya. Do not just try to be-fool people by writing twisting words.
