British Lawmakers tabled motion against Jay Leno

London, England (January 26, 2011): Jay Leno continues to face opposition on his controversial remark about Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, the sacred Sikh shrine. Now British lawmakers say Prime Minister David Cameron should complain to the United States over a Leno routine that joked about the holiest site in the Sikh religion.

SGPC chief, Dal Khalsa oppose Jay Leno’s remarks

Amritsar, Punjab (January 24, 2012): NBC comedy show host Jay Leno's derogatory remarks about Darbar Sahib, Amritsar have enraged Sikhs in Punjab. Avtar Singh Makkar, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) said Leno's remarks were unfortunate. "They hurt the feelings of Sikhs” he added. He said that innumerable Sikhs have lost their lives to uphold its honour and dignity and this is a sensitive issue.
