Amritsar, Punjab (January 30, 2012): Indian media was reporting since last two months that Pro-Khalistan Sikh leaders, allegedly hiding somewhere in Pakistan, were planning to trigger blasts to halt election process in Punjab.
Washington DC (January 30, 2012): Washington-based Sikh organization EcoSikh is appealing to Sikhs around the world to celebrate March 14, 2012 as a Sikh Environment Day for the second year. March 14th is the day when Guru Har Rai, a famous nature and animal lover, became the seventh Sikh Guru in 1644.
As per information made available by Election commission (Punjab), at the end of polling at 17:00 hrs Malerkotla and Fridkot constituency recorded maximum poll turnover of 77% where Fatehgarh Churian recorded lowest turnover of 21%.

The government should no longer allow the army to hide behind claims about troop morale or operational needs as an excuse for impunity.

Now British lawmakers say Prime Minister David Cameron should complain to the United States over a Leno routine that joked about the holiest site in the Sikh religion.
India today is an opportunistic state, whose secularism has been sacrificed many a time at the altar of the needs of the political parties and their leaders. Our sensitivity and sensibilities are under attack all the time. We see no real future for our people.
