Sikhs booked under IPC, Arms Act for opposing DSS activities

Barnala (July 18, 2010): Eight Sikhs, who were taken into custody by Barnala Police for opposing activities of Dera Sauda Sirsa, are booked by the police for various charges under IPC and Arms Acts. It is notable that these Sikhs were arrested yesterday by the district police for opposing “naam charcha” activity of dera, which was held at village Thikriwala, near Barnala. Police also resorted to heavy lathi-charge against Sikhs and patronized naam charcha.

As per information received from Barnala arrested persons are charged under sections 353, 341, 186, 148, 149 of Indian Penal Code and Section 25 of Arms Act. Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj, who rushed to village Thikriwala on receiving the news of incident, informed SikhSiyasat Network that police has registered a false case against Sikh Sangat. Sikhs in large numbers, led by Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj blocked traffic at Thikriwala chowk (Barnala) for several hours to protest against arrests.
“If the police do not withdraw the case the situation may take aggressive turn, as Sikh sangat would not tolerate police atrocities on Sikhs” said Harpreet Singh, a resident of village Thikriwala.

If, his name is Harminder Singh, to whom I personally know very well and from the day of the story of his involvement in the crime got circulated by the police, though the story was totally unreliable, suspicious and unbelievable to me.
Now, he may be made to confess and corroborate the story for number of reasons and by third degree methods.
But, he is a boy of very submissive in nature, sincre and quite gentle in his dealings and never seen taking interest in any unlawful activities.
I met her mother in her house after hearing the story who narrated the story of her innocent son as to how the police took a new scooter etc from her house and planted on someone else and Harminder Singh’s wife was very badly maltreated publically and thereafter, she and his wife were broken ladies physically and socially.
Harminder Singh’s mother was thankful to a ‘Daily Panjabi Newspaper’ for publishing a part of her factual version.
Admission of his arrest by police must be a relief for his family members.

But, why now the place of arrest is being shown Amritsar as reported by timesnow.tv on 17 Jul 2010, 1240 hrs IST “Dreaded Khalistani terrorist and accused in Ludhiana cinema blast — Harminder Singh, has been arrested in Amritsar.”

“Dreaded Khalistani” Terrorist, Harminder Singh Arrested at Ludhiana???
The blacklist politics also includes getting intelligence reports about the listed persons and more, updating and reviewing the list for categorization under different heads like cases registered and the pendency, wanted in connection with terrorist activities, status of cases, present address, identity and the latest information about their whereabouts under the changed circumstances.
It looks always a routine exercise between the central Indian agencies and the state agencies under the central command under the garb of security and safety reasons. Sometime, the politicians factual play no role except doing politics on such issues.
For example, take the case of Harminder Singh (“Dreaded Khalistani”), so far as, I personally know him, he is a boy of very submissive in nature, sincere and quite gentle in his dealings and never seen taking interest in any unlawful activities.
Now, he may be made to confess and corroborate the story for number of reasons and by the third degree methods due to his innocently created association with some people, already may be in the knowledge of investigating agencies, who are supposed to work only for security and safety of the country.
But, I failed to understand as to why the investigating agencies cook-up the concocted stories to involve, ruin and plant people in different cases by cruel means and so openly with impunity, as the facts are very likely to come up in this case provided the investigation conducted independently. Does the terrorism suite to the Indian system?
As to how Harminder Singh’s wife called him faking an emergency, working in tandem and closely with the police? Did Harminder Singh fail to understand about his wife’s relation with police to that extent, till date?
Was it not indicating, even now from this, that Harminder Singh is a boy of very submissive in nature, sincere and quite gentle in his dealings and behaviour?
The independent investigation only could conclude and answer the questions already raised and also pointed out herein and some indirectly about the inhuman and misconduct of police. This case about police has left another black spot and a question mark permanently, about police’s sincerety and the cruel and inhuman way of funtioning of police, that’s to remain, the root cause of terrorism, without any reforms in sight, in India.
