Patiala (June 13, 2010): The Sikh Students Federation, a Punjab based organization of Sikh Students, has welcomed the move undertaken by Sikhs in Canada to get recognition for Sikh massacre of November 1984 as ‘Genocide’ under International Criminal Law, to be specific under Article 2 of U.N. Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
With connivance of Badal-BJP ruling alliance, Hindu extremist organizations are wildly active in hurting Sikh feelings. So many events have happened in past few weeks that indicate towards rising trend of Indo-Sikh Conflict.
Hoshiarpur (June 12, 2010): The Dal Khalsa Saturday hails Canadian member parliamentarians for presenting motion to call killings of Sikhs in Nov 1984 as ‘genocide’.
Uganda (June 12, 2010): On 12th June 2010 the Review Conferee of the Assembly of State Parties of the Rome Statue concluded in Kampala , Uganda. One of the main developments during the conference was an agreement on a mechanism by which the crime of aggression could be prosecuted at the International criminal Court (ICC) – the world’s first permanent war crimes court.
Ludhiana (June 11, 2010): In a letter sent to the President and Prime Minister of India, All the Ministers of Government & Opposition Leaders and the Chief Justice of India, the Youth Khalsa Federation leader Sukhdeep Singh has demanded ban on a function to be held by Hindu Organizations on 10 August, 2010 at Ludhiana.
Canada (June 10, 2010): After being blocked by the Conservative government yesterday, Canadian Sikhs were able to introduce a petition asking Canada to recognize the November 1984 killing of Sikhs as “Genocide” as defined in Article 2 of the UN Convention on prevention and punishment of the Crime of Genocide

Toronto (June 10, 2010): Two Canadian MPs, including Punjab-born Sukh Dhaliwal, gave a notice to table a petition in the Canada’s parliament Wednesday asking the Canadian government to recognize the 1984 Sikh massacre in India, in which thousands of Sikhs were killed by Indians, as an act of genocide.
